About Utah Cru
Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) is a worldwide inter-denominational Christian ministry that has been around for 60 years! We exist to give every college student and faculty in the state of Utah an opportunity to know and follow Jesus. We are not about being "religious," but we are real people, asking real questions, and seeking real answers about life and God. We are an authentic community that is trying to figure what it means to follow Jesus. Since its founding in 1951, Cru has existed to train and equip college students to impact the world around them by sharing the life changing message of the gospel with their family, friends, and fellow students. We want to help you grow in your relationship with God and equip you to share about Jesus with other students on your campus, and with others around you for a lifetime. Our Mission and Vision centers on following Jesus' command in Matthew 28:18-20, to "Go, and make disciples of all nations." Because the future leaders of our world are in college today, we believe the college campus to be a strategic place to reach the world for Christ. Our prayer is that we would see dynamic spiritual movements on every campus in Utah, and in every part of the world, so that everyone knows someone that truly follows Jesus. Our desire is to see growing spiritual movements led by students who follow Jesus, and are passionate about telling others about him. Our focus is giving every college student and faculty in Salt Lake City and the state of Utah an opportunity to hear the gospel, be built up in their faith, and be sent out into the world to be a light for God's kingdom, equipped to "make disciples" wherever God leads them. Statement of Faith
The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God’s infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit, and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks. We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians. Because of the specialized calling of our movement, we desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the ministry to which God has called us.
